Paper piecing

I decided to try paper piecing and loved it! made some leaves that came in Quiltmaker magazine and they were so easy, it was fun. Then I got bold and ordered a Judy Niemeyer pattern called prairie star. Now I have to get more fabric for this project. Hope to have picked out for the retreat in November at What's your stitch n stuff in Virginia Beach. Still trying to finish the quilt for Nell, and I have decided I hate this pattern. The Evening star instructions have to be wrong but I just don't have enough experience to figure it out. Maybe one day I will drive to Great Falls Virginia and ask Jenny Beyer WTF! lol,

Working on two quilts.

I am currently working on two quilts. One I started for my sisters birthday in July and the other a table runner started 2 weeks ago in class. The final lesson is tonight and it should be finished after the class. I will post pictures of my finished project and my work in progress on the Fourth of July quilt for Nell.

Decisions decisions

Confusion seems to be my daily norm anymore. Cant make up my mind about the simplest things. I want to start a new quilt cant decide on the pattern for the material I want to use. Want to do better in school cant focus on the study material. My mind will not cooperate! Tried to watch The Mirror has two faces with Barbra Streisand this morning and could not stop thinking.I love her movies by the way. Yentl was one of the first movies for me, A star is born, fanny, all great movies in my opinion. Love stories always get to me I guess because all my life I have been missing that romantic connection. Someone special who truly gets me........

Forgot I had even created my own blog spot until I started following some quilting blogs to learn better how to quilt. I am still unemployed but have been in school studying and finished my associates degree this year in May. Decided I needed a new sewing machine so that I could take up quilting, when I read about the Quilt of Valor society. I hope to start on my first quilt for a service person next week. It will be a challenge to come up with funds for material but, I am hopeful that I can get some donated on Craigslist. I have enough to start my first quilt and am trying to decide what pattern I want to use. After I finish the first one I will worry about the rest. No sense looking for another worry right. I had hoped to find a couple of locals who wanted to work on this project with me however most seem to be in Virginia Beach and since I no longer want to drive very far it seems I will do this alone. Well if you live in Chesapeake and want to join me just drop me a email and we can set something up.
